A memorable scene from The Last Unicorn, a beloved 1980s cartoon movie based on the novel by Peter S. Beagle that was first published in 1968.
The Last Unicorn has always been one of the most memorable and most loved movies of my childhood. I never get tired of watching it and this piece depicts one of my favorite scenes.
The scene has been recreated using a fabric background, topped with layers of ultrasuede that has been shaped and placed to create parts of the tree, embroidered details throughout and then the entire piece is covered in a sheer layer of fabric to finish the effect. The edge is finished with a boarder of purple grosgrain ribbon. This finished piece comes ready to hang in a walnut stained, floating frame.
Some new and some upcycled materials were used to create this piece.
