Bee Series
This series included four unique pieces.
All pieces in the series focus on themes of life and death that we are unintentionally creating and the hopefulness of possibly reversing it.
These pieces depict the ripple effects of loss of beauty and loss of life that are happening in the world due to careless choices. Through the use of vibrant colors, bold shapes and patterns I also tried to create a feeling of hopefulness and to show the connectedness of how even the smallest details effect every part of our world.
Each piece has unique colors and images.
“Quietus” has a theme of flowers.
“Cultivar” has a theme of plants.
“Sementes” has a theme of vegetables.
“Cultivar” has a theme of fruit.
Wallpaper Girl Series
Shoes with Socks Series
This small series of two was one of the first I created inspired by fashion illustration. I’ve always had an affinity for socks with dress shoes.
The background of each piece is vintage wallpaper that features flowers in pinks, oranges and purples with green leaves, over a white background. Some of the flowers are highlighted with embroidery stitching. The figure, socks and heels are stitched with black, gray and lavender. There are also tiny stars and hearts stitched with metallic gold and silver threads.
This is an ongoing series that was inspired by fashion drawings on the cover of pattern envelopes. Since the human forms are so simplistic, the animals are used to express a more complex feeling, personality or connection.
Each piece is unique and one of kind due to the materials used. The dresses are made from vintage wallpaper.
The animals are composed of cross-stitches sewn directly onto the canvas.
I often receive commission requests for these pieces and really enjoy personalizing them.
