"cultivar" Fine Art Print
This is a print of my original piece: "cultivar". It has been professionally printed on FA Photo Rag Pearl, 320gms paper and has a small boarder around the edge.
The word "cultivar" can be defined as: a plant that is propagated through human interaction, has been selected for desired traits and which retains those traits when propagated.
This print is one in a four piece series. All pieces in the series focus on themes of life and death that we are unintentionally creating and hte hopefulness of possibly reversing it.
This original piece of art depicts the ripple effects of loss of beauty, and loss of life, that are happening in the world due to careless choices. Through the use of bright colors, bold shapes and patterns, I also tried to create a feeling of hopefulness and to show the connectedness of how even the smallest details effect every part of our world.
The print ships in a tube and comes ready to frame or display as you wish.
On the original piece, the background is painted. The queen bee was made of vintage wallpaper with hand stitched edges. The "bubbles" were hand stitched, cross-stitch over black aida fabric. The tiny bees were hand stitched directly onto the canvas.
Dimensions: printed area is 16 inches wide x 20 inches long.
