The summer heat can be very oppressive, and personally I struggle during this time of year. While working on this piece, I experienced a painful loss that made me want to focus on the sweetness of the season which is shown through the joyful colors and theme of each “bubble”.
This work was created with hand embroidered, crewel and cross stitches. Each circle was stitched over aida fabric and then attached to the background fabric. The crewel stitches were sewn directly onto the pink background fabric. Everything is highlighted with a metallic gold thread and comes ready to hang in a dark walnut, floating frame.
Dimensions: Overall including frame: 5 inches wide x 5 inches long x 2 inches deep. Stitched area is 4 inches x 4 inches
